Summer 2022-23 - Peace

There were two anniversaries being celebrated on the day of the launch of Fr Chris Gleeson SJ’s new book, Wings for the Soul, at Xavier College.

Thank you all who bought raffle tickets in the recent Jesuit Communications Christmas 2022 raffle. We are very grateful for your support, which helps continue in our mission to connect with communities by nurturing deeper conversations about faith and justice, to build a better world.

We need to be at peace with ourselves so as not to endanger the peace of others.

Peace doesn’t come easily – it has to be sought and worked at.

A couple of examples from popular culture provide clues on where and how to find peace.

More paper chains and less time tied up in knots may just be the key to a successful and peaceful family Christmas.

Symbols point to important truths, but they are also adaptable to the times and mores of society.

Throughout our days and weeks there are little scenes of peace – we just need to recognise them.
