Summer 2018-19 - Joy

The winners of the Jesuit Communications Christmas Raffle were drawn on 6 December 2018.

Unless we are like the experienced Pope Francis who is always speaking about joy, cajoling sourpusses and embracing people with the most evident happiness, it is hard to speak about joy.

Real joy comes from community, not from the rugged promotion of the individual.

A community comes together to perform a Nativity play.

In their Christmas celebrations, Australia’s Polish community have kept traditions from their homeland with a few southern hemisphere tweaks.

Joy is different to happiness. Joy brings a deeper warmth and contentment to our hearts.

There’s comfort in the ritual of brewing tea – the preparation, the waiting and then the first glorious sip.
